Old Orcas Email Alias is expiring soon, new one in the works.
Due to circumstances beyond our control our old Orcas Island mailing list at savagesoft.com is expiring. Peter Campbell is creating a new one on Google Groups.

Hello,
I will not be able to host the listserv due to changing email providers. This is due to problems with the email service provider I have been using for years.
Peter Campbell [redacted] will be taking over and hopes to have the list backup in a week if not sooner.
I am sorry for this quick change, but I am not getting email through savagesoft.com and must take immediate actions since for over 10 years I have been using that address.
Email sent to orcas96@savagesoft.com for a while will go to the list as this change happens. After the change it will be forwarded to personal mail box.

Further to Paul's message, a few things:
My email is actually [redacted]. I'm subscribed to this list with an old address that I use for very little besides this list.
I'm setting up a new list using Google Groups, which is simple and suitable. Here are some details:
* Group name: Orcas
* Group home page: http://groups.google.com/group/orcassians
* Group email address orcassians@googlegroups.comPaul is sending me the current subscriber list, and I'll be sending invitations to each of you to join the new group. So, you don't have to, but, if you want to, it will be easy.
The new group is set up like the old one:
Messages come by email (you can probably ask it to send them all in one email per day);
It's by invitation only, so strangers can't see the messages or join the group. I'll approve new members only if I get an email from a current list member asking me to;
The Google Group comes with a web version of the list that we can upload files and (probably) pictures to.
I want to publicly thank Paul for 13 years of excellent service! And I look forward to seeing all of you at the new address.
I'll post information about how current mailing list members can migrate to the new list as well as how newcomers can ask to be added.
